So two weekends ago now, I ran the 10km Twilight Bay Run in Wynnum. The atmosphere there was great, I will definitely be running it again next year, even though it is one of the more expensive runs. I didn't realise how pretty it is down there too, so many distractions to look at while running! And the best part, they had pace runners, which helped me to achieve a new personal best for the year, only 1 minute off from my PB back in 2009. It felt amazing to finish in a time I was happy with, shaving 6 minutes off my time at Bridge to Brisbane. I was buzzing for days afterwards, I never want to stop running. I love the feeling of getting fitter and fitter. In between these fun runs I've still been trying to stick to the advanced 10k training program as best I can, although I talk myself out of doing most of the sprints because I play soccer. I should probably start doing them though. So far I've just been doing 40/50/60 minute runs, on average 4 days a week. These runs have definitely been my down time/ relaxing time, where I just try to switch my brain off for a good 9/10km. Its nice, and as uni exams are coming up I think I'm going to need to keep it up more than ever!
My diet hasn't improved much at all, I try so hard to eat breakfast everyday! and I feel so good when I do, I've lost another kilo as well, bringing that to 5 kilos down since july.
Next weekend I'm running in toowoomba wth my dad and one of my longest friends ever, who said he's also keen to do the full marathon next year. The countdown in currently 273 days, we'll get there!
Lastly, a pro tip: add some S club 7 to your running playlist, I'm not even joking, it's amazing :P
